At OSDI, Community Development is about more than just service delivery; it's about strengthening rural communities to take ownership of their own development journey. We believe lasting change happens when communities are informed, engaged, and empowered to lead their own well-being, built on a foundation of collaboration, trust, and shared responsibility.
Increasing incomes and savings is critical to economic growth, but sustaining that growth requires the availability and affordability of primary services. Healthcare, education, clean water, sanitation and hygiene, and infrastructure such as roads and markets are all closely interlinked with economic progress.
Through CDP, OSDI works closely with rural and underserved communities to address these interconnected challenges, integrating education, primary healthcare, infrastructure, and sanitation & hygiene to improve living standards while promoting self-reliance. By raising awareness and building local ownership across these areas, our interventions also help lower households' monthly expenses freeing up resources that further empower families to improve their lives .
