Supporting SDG 7 (Affordable and Clean Energy) and SDG 13 (Climate Action)

OSDI aims to reduce energy and fuel expenditures in focused villages by discouraging dependency on high-cost, non-renewable energy sources and introducing eco-friendly alternatives such as biogas and solar energy. Solar panels have been installed in communities across districts Lasbela and Mardan, where grid electricity is unavailable, powering lights, fans, and water pumps for daily household use. OSDI also promotes advocacy among neighboring rural communities to encourage broader adoption of solar energy for their own consumption needs.

To date, solar panels have been installed in 12 communities; 6 in district Lasbela and 6 in district Mardan; providing reliable, low-cost electricity access to previously unserved villages.
